The 14th annual JHMMC took place on October 11-12, 2025. Thank you to all participants! Information below is for reference about the 2025 competition.
The contest was held in person across two days separated by grade.
| Dates: | The competition was held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 for 6th graders and below; Sunday, October 12, 2025 for 7th-8th graders. |
| Time: | 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM |
| Eligibility: | The competition was open to students from the 4th to 8th grades. Those in 3rd grade and below could register as 4th grade. Students could only take one contest, that for their own grade level. Students who participated on Saturday could not participate again on Sunday. |

Registration for the 2025 competition has closed. The competition took place on October 11-12, 2025. Online and on-site registration were available for both days of the competition. The participation fee was $40 for online registration and $50 for walk-in registration (cash only). Please check back in fall 2026 for information about the 2026 competition. |
| Results: | Results were compiled, with top-scoring participants announced the day-of at the award ceremony. Complete results and all test materials are now available on the Archive page. |

Schedule
The schedule for each day of the 2025 competition was:
- 8:30 - Check-in began, auditorium lobby.
- 9:30 - All contestants arrived by this time. Opening remarks and instructions.
- 10:00 - Contestants brought to testing rooms, competition began
- 11:30 - Pizza lunch served to contestants in testing rooms
- 12:00 - Students returned to gymnasium. Keynote address and/or activities.
- 1:30 - Award ceremony in gymnasium.
The award ceremony ended around 2:00pm.

General Rules
- Calculators are not allowed.
- This is an individual test, so you may not communicate with anyone else taking it.
- Once time begins, we will not answer any questions about the problems.
- You will have 75 minutes to solve 40 problems. Once time is called, you must put down your pen or pencil and stop working.
- Scores will be posted on the website. Your score will appear next to your identification number.

Specifics
- You have a test paper, answer sheet, and scrap paper.
- You may use space on your test paper and additional scrap paper to do work. Your answers must be written on the answer sheet. We will not look at answers written on your test paper.
- Each problem has only one answer. If you put more than one answer for a problem, you will be marked wrong. When changing an answer, be sure to erase or cross out completely.
- Write legibly. If the graders cannot read your answer, it will be marked incorrect.
- Do not approximate constants unless a problem specifies you should.
- If a unit is indicated in the problem, the answer must be given in that unit. For instance, if the problem asks for the answer in hours, you cannot give your answer in minutes. Furthermore, you don't need to write the unit, as the graders will assume your answer is in the units asked for in the problem.
- There is no penalty for guessing.
- Ties will be broken based on the number of correct responses to the last ten questions. If a tie remains, then the correct responses to the last five questions will break the tie.
- We will announce how much time is remaining often during the test.
